Looking for Resources
So NerdDad and I have settled on a Homeschool philosophy and are preparing to start it. We have settled on the Well Trained Mind philosophy that uses Story of the World. Believe it or not, I think we are going to go a little free form with it so we can see what the NerdBug will really be interested in. I love that it isn't textbook dependent. I am wondering where I can find support and resources. I found a couple yahoo groups but they don't seem very active. Is there an online group that all you WTM people use? Any specific resources you just couldn't live without? I am taking all input!

Depending on what you're looking for, WellTrainedMindSecular is a very busy Yahoo group. Lots of curriculum discussion. Forums on http://www.welltrainedmind.com/activeboards.php are also very active. If you're doing Story of the World you may want to look at the activity guide that goes with it for maps and projects or something like History Odyssey from Pandia Press. I also use their R.E.A.L. Science and really like it. Rightstart Math at http://www.alabacus.com is also one of my favorites. There are lots of wonderful options out there. Good luck! Lisa in MA

I bought the activity guide--but Thomas isn't that into history. (History is my thing!) So, I sold it.
We are using SOTW, but I'm just going to read it as a story.
