Everything Skit
*** Repost! This was discussed last week at my Women's Bible study and was requested so I am reposting it! I originally posted this back in January of 2008.
This has been floating around out there so it wouldn't surprise me if you all have seen it. All my MOPS girls have it on their Myspace pages. But I post it for any who haven't. When I first saw this skit I was a little harsh on it. I saw the Christ representation standing unable to get to her. But upon rewatching, you see Him pulling and when she has fought with all she has and has no more He intervened. Be prepared to shed a tear. I have every time I have watched it. Christ is waiting for us and our focus to be on Him. When it is and we use our strength to move towards Him, He will do the rest we need.
**Warning: this deals with real issues, not in graphic but obvious imagery. So don't watch with kids unless you are ready to answer a couple of questions.

my mom showed me this and of course my reaction was "i think it's dumb, mom" but i have to admit that i shed a few tears too. my big questions is why? why did he not get her when she was protesting against evil at the very beginning? why did she have to go through all that when it was apparent to me she wanted to be with Him in the first place? there are very obvious answers to those questions, and i know them all, having been raised with christian parents and having been down the wrong path and then rescued from myself by God himself. but still...why? do you ever feel that way?

I agree with that issue. I felt the same way. But then I looked at it in a slightly different light. I don't think she was protesting as much as having her attention split. I think we all can relate to being in the world and "squeezing" Christ in, or not being able to. I know once my attention is split I can't just slowly come back but I need a reset. I think when we have fallen away and then come back we have a witness but it wasn't Christ's "plan" but Him using our sin for good. But the long and short is I totally feel that was too sometimes.

Jesus doesn't pull us back, He lets us choose our path. That's "free will". In the video she was LURED away from Jesus and WALKED away. Romance, $, Friends for fun/need, jealousy/fame..all are small steps away from Jesus. He is always there and always waiting for our return. I too went down the wrong path and it led me to prison for a year. I dont blame God for not stopping me but PRAISE him for NOT LEAVING me!! I also thank Him for that choice...and I CHOOSE HIM. I'm thankful you do too! Stay on this right path and use your past to strenghten others!
