The Economy?

I am one of those people that cringe when others complain about the economy going in the toilet. Sure things have tightened up but that just means you need to make good choices about your money. But my line I use is, "the economy can't be that bad if they are selling iPhones at Walmart". Well I may need to get a new line. How bad is the economy if they can pay $2500 a ticket to go to a Yankees game in New York?

  • Oh yeah! I get fed up with stuff like that.

I love it when the economists start advising people on "how to cut back" as well--you know, only take one cruise a year, start washing the Beemer yourself. LOL, it's just ridiculous.

  • I hate hearing about how bad the economy is also, even though there's been a train sitting on the track a few miles from my house for weeks. I think it's waiting to go to the Ford plant close to here.

Yes, there are still wealthy people around, just like there were during the Great Depression. Although it's been a running joke how few people are sitting in those expensive seats in the new Yankee stadium.

  • Maybe it's all the divorce and bankruptcy lawyers buying those pricey baseball tickets?

The employment situation seems to be brightening a bit even if the official numbers aren't showing it yet. 3 people I know who had been jobhunting for months received offers within the past couple of weeks (and 2 of those got multiple offers). And fewer of my acquaintances are being laid off compared to last fall or this winter.
