For Today 6/1

Outside my window... The sun is shining brightly and summer is in full effect.

I am thinking... that my body is a traitor;). I want the lump in the roof of my mouth to go away and my injection site to quit bleeding.

From the learning rooms... We are hitting clocks with NerdPie and multiplying by 10's and 100's for NerdBug. I also hope to start How to Study Your Bible for Kids (Discover 4 Yourself® Inductive Bible Studies for Kids)this week.

I am thankful for... My wonderful husband who takes wonderful care of me and the kids.

From the kitchen... NerdDad is making pan chocolate chip cookies and taco baked potatoes tonight!

I am wearing... a pink t-shirt and blue shorts

I am reading... New World Kids: The Parents' Guide to Creative Thinking for a book review

I am hoping... my oldest quits fighting the homework.

I am praying... to start feeling better and get things done!

Around the house... I have copious amounts of laundry and I need to clean my loft.

One of my favorite things... dark chocolate.

A few plans for the rest of the week... I have a MOPs girl's morning and lunch with NerdDad and some friends!

Go read some more DayBooks!

Supreme Education

Since the President is appointing a Supreme Court Justice it is a great time to find out information on previous justices. In that vein I recommend going over to The Stimulist and read about 5 of the most surprising appointments. I don't agree with the degree of surprise on some of them but it is a great read! I personally don't think that Black and his KKK membership really was all that shocking in relation to FDR's appointment of him.

Buffy Without Joss?

What would a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie be without Joss Whedon? Or be without the story he built up over these years? Apparently the original movie director is thinking about doing a remake without Joss. I think now that Buffy has built up a large following (of which I am one) they can't go backwards and flush all that Joss Whedon has built. What do you think? Will it survive without him?

Food for Thought

This doesn't even account for how many children choose to not walk in their parents Christian faith. So what do you all think about this? Does it make you want to have more kids? Less? Don't care? Let's converse;).

Wordless Wednesday: Real Life

The NerdBug got hold of the camera on afternoon when I wasn't home. This is the real life that he captured. I don't know what to think but I think this is a real picture of my laptop table in the living room. How sad.

The Economy?

I am one of those people that cringe when others complain about the economy going in the toilet. Sure things have tightened up but that just means you need to make good choices about your money. But my line I use is, "the economy can't be that bad if they are selling iPhones at Walmart". Well I may need to get a new line. How bad is the economy if they can pay $2500 a ticket to go to a Yankees game in New York?

KKK vs Hebrews?

Apparently back in the 1920's people didn't take blood rivalry's quite so seriously? I am not sure what to think about this old newspaper clipping over at Jeffrey Goldberg's site but it is entertaining.

Late Night Dance Challenge

Love me some Jimmy Fallon! I think he is cool. I feel for the normal guy being pitted against a pro-type guy (don't know if he is actually a pro). He guests on the new Electric Company so my kids love him too.

Amy has posted this awesome craft over at the Mother Load! It is made of ping pong balls, glitter and wreath forms. Isn't it absolutely great? I am going to have to make this very soon!

I Love Steve Brown!

I am not a televangelist kind of girl, nor radio evangelists usually. I'm more of the school that you should go and physically get yourself into the fellowship. But I love Steve Brown of Key Life Ministries. NerdDad introduced me to his radio show many years ago. It is a 15 minute deal that really makes you think. This is part of the reason I love him so:
I'm probably the most opinionated friend you have. I have an opinion on everything from Obama (didn't vote for him) to global warming (I'm cold) to Christian music (I like Bach). I know what I like and don't like and, frankly, I'm right about almost all of my opinions. It's hard to be right all the time and it's, also, quite irritating to those of us who are right to have people who aren't right contradict us.

Now I don't love because he has an opinion but because he informs himself and can have an opinion. Most of the time I agree with him. Most of the rest of the time, it is a case that I never thought of it the way he puts it so I need to muse to see if I agree. Then most of that time I agree too;). Go read why you as Christians need to go offend someone!
